About James Lake Music Services:
Drawing on the rich talent of New York City's community of professional musicians, James Lake Music Services provides soloists and ensembles to create memorable music experiences at churches, chapels, funeral homes, and gravesides. We have the resources and know-how to produce beautiful, inspiring music with appropriate taste and dignity. All our musicians are talented, highly-trained, and sensitive to the particular needs of grieving families, and all have demonstrated a sufficient level of experience to be trusted to perform at events as important as a funeral or memorial.
About the Director:

James Lake has been the organist and music director at Sacred Hearts & St Stephen church in Brooklyn, New York since 2003. Hundreds of families have entrusted Jim with their loved ones' funeral music. Jim combines musical excellence and years of experience with sensitivity, respect, and a deep musical expressiveness. An expert music arranger and director, Jim's use of ensembles is what makes his performances stand out as particularly moving and inspiring. He earned his Master of Music degree as a scholarship student at Manhattan School of Music, and his Bachelor of Music at Rice University's prestigious Shepherd School of Music. Jim's continuing organ studies were at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, NJ, and at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan. Jim has directed special music for liturgies at many churches - large and small - throughout the New York City area, including at St. James Cathedral in Brooklyn. He has performed music for liturgies at St. Patrick's Cathedral and St. Francis Xavier in Manhattan, at St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre, at St. Joseph's Seminary in Yonkers and at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, NY.
As a trumpeter, Jim is a frequent performer with symphony orchestras, and has performed at all of New York City's major concert venues, including Carnegie & Avery Fisher Halls, the Metropolitan Opera, Madison Square Garden, and the Barclays Center. As a recording artist, Jim has performed for television and radio, and was heard on Broadway in the soundtrack to Lincoln Center's Tony-Award-winning production of War Horse. He is proud to have been of member of the Gramercy Brass Orchestra of New York, and continues to perform with Arcadia Brass.
